As of November 2024, Christina has relocated to Chicago, IL.
Christina Scroggins is an alumna of Boston's prestigious North Bennet Street School, where she earned a certificate in piano technology. Immediately following graduation, she worked in New York City with the nonprofit organization Sing For Hope, maintaining pianos in public spaces throughout the city before moving back home to California. She is an active member of the Piano Technicians Guild (PTG) and a Registered Piano Technician. Christina served as the second-in-command Senior Piano Technician at the Aspen Music Festival and School for the entire 2019 season and has been invited back to work as a Senior Technician for some weeks of the 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025 seasons. During her time in the San Francisco Bay Area, Christina served as the Lead Spirio technician and Concert Technician for Steinway & Sons, while maintaining pianos for private clients including professional composers, music educators, concert pianists, and serious hobbyists.
Christina is passionate about continuing her education. She has completed all of the C.F. Theodore technical trainings at the Steinway factory in Astoria, New York, attends PTG conventions and chapter meetings, and has worked with several highly regarded technicians, including regularly working at Erwin’s Piano Restoration for several years. She is also passionate about sharing knowledge and has given several PTG chapter meeting technical presentations, trained colleagues one-on-one, and been a guest speaker at Oberlin Conservatory’s Piano Technology department.
In this pursuit of excellence, Christina accepted a job at Northwestern University with goals of furthering her knowledge and skillsets. She is excited to have a shop to work in every day alongside concert instruments in beautiful halls.
